Today, Richmond, VA-based artist DJ Harrison has released new album Tales from the Old Dominion. In the run-up, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer released three singles, including the alien spaceship sounds of 'Cosmos (feat.Pink Siifu)'. With 17 tracks, the new record moves through a broad sonic range including experimental electronics, futuristic funk and galactic jazz. 'Have You Ever Been (to Electric Ladyland)' lies in the middle of the album and acts as a soothing rest-bite. Fluffy wah guitar, the creamy bass line and laid-back tempo remind us of Sylvia Striplin's 'You Can't Turn Me Away'. DJ Harrison's tender and soulful vocals are overlapping, woven into the track with expansive reverb and the odd bit of cosy fuzz.
